One Hundred Energy Saver Homes

Bradford on Avon beat off stiff competition to become the South West contender in the British Gas Green Streets competition. This will support energy efficiency upgrading of one hundred homes in the Bradford on Avon community area. Selected households will receive up to £1000 of free insulation and other improvements. The closing date for applications is 10th January.

The project will also support energy efficiency upgrading of three community halls, Fitzmaurice and Holt primary schools, and help towards the installation of photovoltaic panels to generate electricity at Christchurch school. Energy savings will be carefully measured and the community which has saved the most among the 14 competing throughout the UK will win a further £100,000.
